HISTORY OF RIMTEC CORPORATION

Rimtec Corporation was established in January of 1990, as a joint venture for the manufacture and sale of Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) compounds. Rimtec's parent companies include Riken Technos Corp., Japans largest manufacturer of PVC/TPE compounds, Mitsubishi Corporation, an integrated general trading company with numerous industrial investment worldwide, and Mitsubishi International Corporation, its U.S. affiliate.

Rimtec's plant was originally part of a complex owned and operated by Tenneco Polymers, which sold its entire PVC operation to Occidental Chemical Corporation in 1985. Occidental, in turn, sold a part of the assets acquired from Tenneco (a PVC compounding facility in Burlington, NJ) to Spartech Corporation in early 1988.

Rimtec's search for an excellent, well-established compounding operation through which to introduce Riken Technos superior products to the North American market culminated in the acquisition of the Burlington plant in February of 1990. As the inheritor of an operation whose technological base has been strengthened by each of its successive owners, Rimtec will focus its efforts on the production and marketing of high quality, high performance PVC compounds for a wide range of sophisticated and demanding end-use applications.

Far from resting on the accomplishments of its distinguished predecessors; however, Rimtec has extensive, long-term plans to improve the existing plant and equipment, add new lines for specialty products, strengthen R&D capabilities, and introduce state-of-the-art production techniques and quality control systems.

Rimtec is dedicated to providing both prompt customer service and high level of technical assistance, focusing not only on our customers daily production needs; but, also on their advanced, long-term technical requirements.
